Winding roads and mountain passes lead to the historic and unspoiled gold mining village of Pilgrims Rest. Here the atmosphere of the town has been successfully preserved, where gold was discovered over a century ago.
We offer a unique experience for a tired traveller. Being the only village in South Africa with National Monument status, we are able to offer excellent restaurant facilities that seat 300 pax, conferencing, year-end parties, weddings ,etc.
We have charming Victorian accommodation, that can sleep up to 110 people. We have WIFI facilities, two fully functional Bars, Room service at request.

Gold Panning
You will accompany the tour guide to a select area of the river in Pilgrims Rest, where you will be shown how to pan for gold, and for an hour you can pan out as much as you like, and you can keep all that you find.
