Description

One of the best pubs and restaurants in the Lowveld, offering great service, excellent food and superb value for money. Established in 2015, we soon became the local favorite.

Known for our great value for money, with popular specials always available.

Our extensive and unusual drinks menu is updated with new items all the time, so why not pop in and try something that would blow your mind away.

As for our food, it is fresh homely and delicious. Our extensive menu will keep even the hungriest happy. Great sized portions, tasty and satisfying. Choose from our burgers, grills or even wood fired “box shaped” pizzas.

Arrive at Phat Boys hungry, leave well fed and satisfied.

The name “Phat Boys” evolved through a play on words, both Phat being used as an adjective meaning excellent and because our husbands have “beer boeps”, a little plush sized around the mid-region, so we weren’t shy to poke a little fun with that. Phat Boys was created through an idea that was driven from the love of the industry. Our concept was to be “hands- on” owners that provided a property in which the locals of our community could get together and enjoy a fantastic meal, ice cold beverages and have an unforgettable experience with our friendly staff. We soon became the place “where everyone knows your name”, because if you walk in with no friends you would’ve made a whole bunch of them by the time you leave.

Phat Boys Beer House opened its doors to the public on 01 December 2015 and was created through an idea that was driven from four friends who all shared a mutual passion and love of the hospitality industry and were excited to begin a joint venture together.

The Naude and Elvey Families already owned a restaurant of their own separately but this was something we wanted to explore together. It was a concept that was discussed for a number of years and an opportunity arose with a property becoming available in White River that had the perfect location.

The premises began its life as a Pastorie in the 20th century.

Supporting local is of the utmost importance to us. We strive to purchase locally before venturing out, whether it be from our local farmers, small businesses within the community, namely, meat, diary, fresh fruit and veg produce to name but a few, to our local “one-man band” for entertainment. Our suppliers within our community offer exceptional produce/ items and we have really formed such strong relationships with them that we are fortunate enough to always be offered the heads up to stock a new item before it has been launched.

We have received phenomenal support from our locals, these are people that we would not only consider patrons, but family. We draw in regulars as well as the passing trade. The Naude and Elvey Families already owned a restaurant of their own separately but this was something we wanted to explore together.
